1、 Project Background
As a senior enterprise in the mechanical manufacturing industry, the customer is preparing for mass production of a new type of mechanical equipment, in which the core component, the circular shaft, has strict requirements for accuracy, material performance, and appearance quality. Previously, the sampling results of cooperation with multiple suppliers did not meet the ideal standards. After industry recommendations and multiple inspections, we ultimately chose to join hands with us and embark on this journey of customizing circular shafts.
2、 Key stages of project execution
(1) Material selection: laying the foundation for quality
According to the project design blueprint, the circular shaft needs to withstand complex mechanical loads and ensure long-term stable operation, so the material selected is 45 steel. This type of steel has a moderate carbon content and good comprehensive mechanical properties. After quenching and tempering treatment, it can effectively improve strength and toughness, suitable for high-strength use scenarios of circular shafts, and lay a solid foundation for product quality from the source.
(2) Precision machining: carving with ultimate precision
Production process selection: Adopting CNC turning technology in multi axis CNC machining, the multi axis linkage system synchronizes and coordinates the relative motion between the tool and the workpiece under precise computer control, achieving one-time precision forming processing of complex outer circles, inner holes, steps and other features of the circular axis. Compared to traditional turning, multi axis CNC turning greatly reduces the number of clamping times, effectively avoids cumulative errors, and stably controls the precision of key dimensions such as circular shaft diameter and length within ± 0.02 millimeters, far exceeding the customer's original precision indicators, providing a perfect adaptation foundation for subsequent assembly processes.
Process processing strengthening: In the processing flow, quenching and heat treatment processes are integrated to accurately control the heating temperature, insulation time, and cooling rate, so that the circular shaft obtains a uniform metallographic structure, and the hardness reaches the range of Brinell hardness 241-286HB. This not only strengthens the internal lattice structure of the steel, enhances wear resistance and fatigue resistance, but also maintains stable physical properties of the circular shaft during long-term operation, extending its service life.
(3) Exquisite appearance: pay attention to details and control
Surface treatment upgrade: customized oxidation treatment process for circular shafts to resist corrosion and oxidation erosion in daily use. By using chemical oxidation methods, a dense and highly adhesive oxide film is generated on the surface of steel, effectively isolating external water vapor, acidic and alkaline media, improving the corrosion resistance of the product, ensuring that the appearance remains smooth and flat for a long time, and meeting the requirements of both aesthetics and practicality in mechanical manufacturing.
Appearance finishing process: Strictly follow the appearance requirements and arrange professional personnel to carry out detailed deburring, chamfering, and edge removal work. By using precision polishing tools and advanced testing equipment, the edges and corners of the circular shaft are inspected and processed one by one, removing residual burrs, pouring smooth edges, eliminating sharp edges, preventing harm to operators, and improving product texture and assembly convenience, demonstrating the ultimate pursuit of details.
(4) Quality control: strictly adhere to standard specifications
From raw material inspection upon arrival at the factory, to sampling inspection during the processing, and finally to full inspection of the finished product, strict control of the dimensions and geometric tolerances of the circular axis is carried out in accordance with German Industrial Standards (DIN). With the help of high-precision coordinate measuring instruments and other equipment, real-time monitoring of geometric parameters such as cylindricity, circular runout, straightness, etc. of the circular axis is carried out, and deviations are adjusted and corrected in a timely manner to ensure that each circular axis is delivered to customers in a zero defect state, meeting the high-precision assembly requirements of complex mechanical structures.
3、 Project results and customer feedback
After multiple rounds of optimization and strict quality inspection, the project was delivered on time. During customer acceptance, the performance of various indicators of the circular shaft was excellent.
